Some people...
A long day it has been. If the rest of 2006 is anything like the first month, I don't think I'll survive this year; if you really are interested, I will explain, but otherwise, I'll spare the painful details. At any rate, this just depressed me further. This morning, after ROTC, while I was waiting in line at McDonald's drive-thru, I had the radio on listening to a local morning radio show. The typical discussions and humor were in full swing, along with trival bits of news. One issue that was metioned was that of a rapper (to be honest, I don't even remember his name- no loss there) who was drawing some flak from religious groups. Why? Because on the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone (?--something of the like) he is pictured as Jesus nailed to the cross, wearing a crown of thorns.
The rapper was outraged at the controversy and had justification for the photo (get ready for this..) "Because I have a lot in common with Jesus- he had to keep shouting for people to listen to him and, like him, I have had to make sacrifices for my career, just like him" (not exact quotes, but darn close).
?????????? SACRIFICES? I'm sure Mr. Rapper has made all kinds of sacrifices throughout his career (must be the same ones as Terrell Owens). And I'm sure the rapper would readily give his life for unknown strangers. However, it seems to me that the Son of God and Rapper Anonymous have a slight difference in motivation. Disgusting.

you cracked me up with the ???????Sacrifices line. Made me bust a gut.Since I am on the inside magazine track, I knew the Kanye West (aka Mr. Rapper) cover was coming (although don't worry, my company doesn't publish Rolling Stone) & they're getting the kind of reaction they certainly wanted. At least there are people like you who can THINK FOR THEMSELVES & see that a 2006 rapper making millions isn't quite the same as Jesus, despite what he may think.
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I HATE RAP. How did that EVER get labeled as MUSIC? If there is rap playing over an intercom in a store I leave. I HATE IT, I HATE IT.
